Marketing Manager

Are you passionate about tech, food and social media? Can you use your tech-savvy smarts to craft creative ideas and content? Are you excited by the prospect of building a great brand and community? Join us and spread the word about the future of food by marketing for our dynamic start-up and help position us online. You will play an active role in building our brand and company by helping us build our social media presence and establishing a Desora community.

YOU WILL

  • Continue to build and manage our company’s social media profile and presence
  • Create shareable content appropriate for specific networks to spread both our brand and content
  • Run social media campaigns and use quantitative metrics to track their success
  • Create and execute strategy and media plans to reach target KPI’s
  • Research, analyze, and maintain a record of trends, innovations, and stories that affect our target demographic’s response
  • Drive consistent and relevant traffic and leads from our social network presence
  • Blog on an on-going basis to support & promote our online presence and mission
  • Manage our SEO & SEM campaigns
  • Manage and improve our search engine performance
  • Continuously update our comprehensive marketing plan to launch our product!

YOU HAVE

  • Startup and product marketing experience
  • Attention to detail and a knack for communicating complex and convincing ideas

PLUSES

R&D Food Scientist

Do you have a love of food and cooking and the intellectual rigor to use a methodical approach to improve them? Can you work strategically in multi-disciplinary teams to provide creative product solutions? We’re looking for someone who’s creative yet organized that can run experiments and use dedicated scientific reasoning to invent cooking methods in a fun and collaborative environment.

YOU WILL

  • Craft and implement food science experiments using your own test criteria
  • Use consumer reports and standard tests to determine and improve the performance of cooking appliances
  • Apply the scientific method to cook and design recipes based on product analysis
  • Maintain excellent and detailed technical and consumer documentation
  • Reverse engineer appliances and recipes and use your analysis to invent new product features and cooking methods
  • Deduce physical and chemical properties of various foods

YOU HAVE

  • A B Sc/Masters in Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering or equivalent
  • 3+ years professional experience demonstrating excellent understand of product development, reverse engineering and food science principles (meat preferred)
  • Tasted and distinguished sensory characteristics of different types of foods
  • A sense of humor, flexible working habits and a team-playing spirit
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail with a great work ethic
  • Ability to think creatively with respect to products, processes and meals
  • A consistent record of successful independent research, effective technical reports and dynamic presentations
  • Experience using LabVIEW, LabQuest, MATLAB for data collection and processing

Electronics & Embedded Systems Engineer

Are you deeply passionate about the technology you build? Are you motivated by developing great products, and love a technical challenge? You’ll be a critical member of our team working to bring innovation to the food we eat and help Desora maintain its IoT grill controller. As a passionate self-starter, you will have a chance to create a serious impact. If you want to be in a fun, growing (barbecue-filled) industry, join us!

YOU WILL:

  • Implement firmware for IOT connected devices that allow our device and mobile application to interact with each other over the internet
  • Implement mobile and web applications to interface with web services and local wireless devices
  • Design full stack applications to support, monitor, and maintain 
  • Deploy scalable and robust cloud-based systems and verify the stability and scalability of said servers and more generally our backend system architecture
  • Designing tests to verify the robustness of the solutions implemented
  • Test the performance of and verify proper functioning of software patches and fixes to our backend servers to analyze and quantify our backend system performance using quantitative performance metrics

DO YOU HAVE

  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with 2-3 years of work experience of computer systems engineering or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or related fields with at least 1 year of work experience.
  • Knowledge of web and mobile app technologies like Javascript, Java, Python etc and strong programming skills to develop and configure multi-tier web applications and backend server
  • Familiarity with microcontrollers/ microprocessors and experience developing web clients on embedded systems and mobile devices with C/C++,
  • Good grasp of scripting languages and automation scripts to deploy applications on cloud platforms
  • Familiarity with implementing digital control systems and algorithms
  • Experience working with  with database and object relational mapping systems like MySQL and SQLAlchemy
  • IoT project experience and familiarity with networking and communication protocols including HTTP, AMQP, MQTT, and SSH 
  • Understanding of how a backend server interacts with mobile or web app and communicates with wireless device in real time and gathers data from sensors
  • Prior experience in software testing and quality assurance and familiarity with testing suites, protocols and standards
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum and fast-paced development

Electronics & Embedded Systems Engineer

Desora, Inc. seeks Electronics & Embedded Systems Engineer to work at our Cambridge, MA office. Will design & test electronic circuit boards for use in commercial smart products and perform quality control and coordinate with product manufacturers regarding software/hardware requirements.

YOU WILL

  • operate design software to design circuit boards and produce sketches and schematics drawings for the electronics, as well as firmware for embedded systems to achieve desired performance
  • test and troubleshoot circuit board designs and manufactured circuit boards to identify & resolve design errors or hardware/software issues; prepare and review design documents
  • hardware and software for manufacturing; prepare technical documentation containing proprietary hardware and software; design tooling, fixtures and jigs used in manufacturing, as well as quality control software
  • create benchmark tests for the product during production and post production; plan and develop applications and modifications for electronic properties used in components, products, and systems to improve technical performance.

YOU HAVE

  • a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering or related
    field plus 1 year (12 months) of experience in development & manufacturing of complex electronic devices and systems,
  • a history of developing firmware and circuits with Microchip, Silan TI, and Espressif components using Altium Designer, EagleCAD, NI LabVIEW, TI CCS and MPLAB platforms,
  • familiarity with JavaScript, Python, C, Embedded C for Silan, NuttX RTOS, Free RTOS, The MathWorks MATLAB, SKETCHUP and related tools/technologies.

Engineering Technician

Are you passionate about technology, food, and scientific experimentation? Join Desora as a full time Engineering Technician. You will work collaboratively with our team to improve experiment design and ensure the quality of our cooking products. If you are interested in the development of new, innovative products – We want to talk to you!

You will:

  • Design experimental protocols and execute experiments to improve our cooking procedures
  • Perform quality control tests on a variety of software and hardware applications such as mobile apps and cooking appliances
  • Analyze, report, and present on collected data and findings
  • Maintain safe and organized work environments and experimental setups
  • Diagnose and service returned products
  • Advise customer support in technical matters
  • Cook to try out and craft new recipes and cooking techniques

You have:

  • Proficiency in MS Office or G Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail and you can carefully follow procedures in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent organizational, time management skills, and you can think critically.
  • Phenomenal written skills, with a systematic approach to experiment design and report writing and are able to make insightful observations
  • A real passion for food
